On October 4, 2024, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”) announced that there will not be a re-parole process for immigrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. Immigrants who have been granted lawful status under one of these processes will be required to leave the United States before the end of their lawful stay period.

Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Somalia has been redesignated and extended for 18 months, from September 18, 2024, to March 17, 2026, due to unsafe country conditions. Current TPS beneficiaries will be eligible to extend their status, and additional Somali nationals can file first time applications for TPS during the designated period.
