About Farah Al-khersan

Immigration Attorney, Owner

Farah Al-khersan’s passion for immigration law stems from her own experiences as an immigrant. Her family fled Iraq when she was young and moved to New Zealand before settling in the United States. Farah graduated from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor with a Bachelor’s in English and Spanish. During her undergraduate career, Farah worked at the University of Michigan Law School – Pediatric Advocacy Initiative, assisting immigrants in applying for public and immigration benefits.

Farah subsequently graduated from Wayne State University Law School. During her time in law school, Farah worked as a student attorney for the Asylum and Immigration Law Clinic and completed an internship at the Detroit Immigration Court. For her academic performance and public interest work, Farah was awarded the Harry Klein and Shirley Klein Legal Scholarship, Marilyn Kelly Public Interest Endowed Scholarship, Justice for our Neighbors’ Dr. Kenneth Christler Volunteer Award, Mark Weiss Memorial Endowed Scholarship, WSU Law Dean’s Scholar, and Women Lawyers’ Association of Michigan Foundation Scholarship.

Farah currently handles matters involving family-based immigration, naturalization, asylum, and removal proceedings. Farah dedicates great focus and attention to each one of her clients and has successfully handled a wide range of cases before USCIS and Immigration Court.

Farah previously worked with Attorney Michael Carlin for four years before starting her own firm.

Farah is fluent in Arabic and Spanish. Her hobbies including reading, traveling, spending time with family, and kickboxing.
